  1. 1.First a volcano explodes then it rolls into a river or a sea.Next it piles up and then the magma reaches the layers of rock. Then it cools down and turns into igneous. When it cools in a volcano it makes crystals. If it cools in lava you can't see the crystles.2.There are many types igneous. For instance there are Granite, pumis ,quartz, obsidian and basalt. There are also many more types of igneous rock.3.Because they are so hard, Igneous rocks make useful road building materials. When sheets of igneous rock are cut and polished, they are used inside buildings such as banks and offices, and are also used as gravestones. There are different types of igneous rock, therefore each type has its own uses
People in ancient Egypt used basalt for make-up.And the Chinese used granite for the great wall of China.like Self reflection.I learned about how igneous rock is made and I also learned about allot of types of igneous rocks.Personally I liked the project because you have to work hard with groups work on a computer.I think it would be easier to work in groups of two because it mite be easy to combine two ideas.

  2. 1. First a volcano explodes then it rools into a river or a sea. next it piles up and then the magma reaches the layers of rock. then it turns into igneous rock when it cools down. sometimes igneous focks form fast they have giant crystles inside or then. igneous rocks form when molton rock cools and becomes solid. molten rock is called magma when it is below the earth's surface and lava when it is above.

    2. There are meny tipes of igneous . for instenance there are granit, pumas, quartz, obsidian and basalt, there are also many more.

    3. People in ancient Eygpt used dasalt for make=up. And the Chinese used granite for the great wall of China.

Self reflection. What I didnt know before this project is that igneous rocks are formed from lava. or thar after lava cools it becomes igneous rocks. or that after rocks from a volcano they head out to sea. or sometimes the ocean. and while they are in the sea/ocean they are deposited into layers. or that the igneous rock's layers after cooling from being in a volcano they becone metamorphic rocks. I also didnt know that becuse magma is liguid and usuly less dense then surounding solid rock it moves upword to cooler regions of the earth. add i also didnt know that igneous rocks are divided into two based on where they form. and i didnt know that just like the water cycle the earth recycles it's rocks. i also didnt know that form below the earth's surface are called intrusive rocks or plutonic. thew form when they form when magma enters an underground chamber cools very slowly and forms rocks full of large crystals.

  3. 1.First a volcano erupts then it rolls into a river or sea. Next it piles up and then the magma reaches the layers of rock. Then it turns into an Igneous rock. The type of rock will cool and harden. When Igneous rocks come out of the volcano they cool slower and form into big crystals, when they cool in magma .Some sentience say it can take over thousands of years for it to cool.
2.There are many types of Igneous rocks. For instance there are granite, pumice, quartz, obsidian, and basalt. There are also many more.
3.People in ancient Egypt used basalt for make-up.And the Chines used granite for the Great Wall of China. There are definitely more ways for building with Igneous rocks like for building roads.Because they are so hard, Igneous rocks make useful road building materials. When sheets of igneous rock are cut and polished, they are used inside buildings such as banks and offices, and are also used as gravestones. There are different types of igneous rock, therefore each type has its own uses
Self Reflection:I learned that Igneous rocks and many more were used for many different things. For on example granite is used for to make houses. In Egypt they used basalt for make-up.I enjoyed the activity because students get to learn more about there types of rocks and give there ideas for there questions.I think it was easier working in groups because you got to work on the computer and look at some different types of rocks with each other

  4. 1. Igneous rocks are formed when molten rocks cool down. Molten rocks cool when they enter a chamber underground. Igneous means fire made so it's also formed by fire. A igneous rock is formed when magma loses heat. A Igneous rock is made of a lot of minerals and grains. When heat and pressure squeeze together a igneous rock will be formed by new minerals. Igneous rocks form when molten rocks turn solid. Some Igneous rocks form when magma and lava have a lot of crystals. When Igneous rocks cool slowly it gets large crystals. Also when they cool fast they get small crystals.

    2. Some examples of an Igneous rock are Obsidian. Also, Quartz because it is fire made. Basalt is fire made so it is an example of an Igneous rock and Granite is an example of an Igneous rock.

    3. Igneous rocks are used to build buildings. Also it used to make sidewalks and bridges. It is used to get dirt off [pumice]. Another way it was used was to build The Great Wall of China. One other way was to mix a Igneous rock with concrete. Another way was to build schools. Granite was good to build with because of it's hardness.

    Self Reflection:
I learned that Igneous means fire made and the rocks are fire made. I didn't know Igneous rocks are used to build buildings and sidewalks. I didn't know that there was three kinds of rocks. Another thing I didn't know was when magma cools it turns into a Igneous rock. One other way I didn't know about Igneous rocks was when they cool slowly they get large crystals and when they cool fast they get small crystals. I learned that Igneous rocks are made of minerals and grains.

    2. Yes I did enjoy this activity because I learned about rocks that I didn't know before. Also, I liked how to learn some facts about rocks.

    3. It is easier working in groups because you get more information about your rock. Also, work gets done faster if you work in groups because more minds working on the same thing. Another good thing we're in groups is people might not know about rocks but your partners will help you. Your partners might have notes that you don't have to finish a question.

  5. 1. Igneous rocks are formed by molten rocks that cools down. Molten rocks cool when they enter a chamber underground. The molten rocks take a long period of time of cooling. Also, Igneous rocks can be called fire made rocks that is the definition of Igneous. Another way, of forming Igneous rocks rocks is was when magma loses heat. Igneous rocks have a lot of minerals and grains when you look closely at a Igneous rock. When heat and pressure squeezes together a igneous rock will be formed with new minerals. Some igneous rocks are formed with magma and lava rocks when they combine together igneous rocks will have a lot of crystals. When Igenous rocks cool slowly it has large crystals. Also, when it cools fast it has smaller crystals.

    2. Some examples of igneous rocks are Basalt, Obsidian, and Quartz because they are fire made. Basalt is fire made so it is an example of igneous rocks and Granite is another type of igneous rock. More examples of igneous rocks is when magma is cooled down. You can pick it up and look at it you can see a lot of crystal that are visible to the naked eye. Some igneous rocks are smooth but a lot of different kinds of crystals.

3.Some ways that people have used Igneous rocks are for building other things. One way it was used was to build The Great Wall of China. Some other reasons are to make concrete sidewalk, bridges, and big, huge buildings or skyscrapers. Igenous rocks have many important uses.To build different things that are useful to people.

    Self Reflection

    1. I learned how Igenous rocks had so many different kinds of rocks because I have a big collection of rocks so now I know if I have so Igneous rocks. Also, I found out that igneous is very helpful for humans. Some more things I found out is that Igneous rocks were made to also build buildings, sidewalks, and many other things that we use. Also, I did not know about magma cools it will form an Igneous rock. The faster it cools it will have less crystals. When it cools slowly it has a large amount of crystals in an Igneous rock.

2.I enjoyed this activity because I like learning about different kinds of rocks. So it was my chance to learn about rocks because I love learning about rocks. Also, I liked this rock project because Igneous rocks are formed a weird way. Also, another way, I liked this project is that that is different ways that helped me learn about different rocks.

    3. It is easier to work in groups because the work would be to difficult to me and it would take for ever to finish if I was working all by myself. Also, my groups work gets done faster because we put are answers together to finish faster and easier. I would be on question that made no sense, but my groups help me through it so it's easier.

  6. 1 .The Igneous rocks is formed when magma is dried .Igneous rocks are formed when magma reaches earth surface. Igneous rocks are also formed randomly when grains. Igneous rocks form when molten rock cools and solidifies.

    2. The Extrusive and the Intrusive rocks are a form of the igneous rock .some rocks have magnetism. There to type of igneous rocks, deeding on where the rock is formed.igneous rocks are divided into two groups, based on where the rock forms.

    3. Igneous rocks make useful road building materials.when igneous rock are cut and polished, they are used inside buildings such as banks and offices, and are also used as gravestones.Because they are so light, it is used quite often as a decorative landscape stone. If grounded to a powder, it is used as an abrasive in polish compounds and in Lava soap.

4.What I Learned about Igneous rocks is that igneous rocks could be formed in a lot of different way's. Also Igneous rocks can be found in some places on earth.Igneous can be used for a lot of thing on earth. I enjoy this activity a lot because I learn a lot about igneous rocks.Yes it will easier in a groups becues if I did it by my self it will be a lot harder for me to all of the stuff.

    1. I learned that The Great Wall of China was made of igneous rocks. I didn't know Lava that cools quicker than magma in the earth. Also I didn't know that Granite is a example of a igneous rock. One other way I didn't know about is that rocks take a long time to cool down.

    2. I did enjoy the project because learned about how igneous rocks form. Also, I enjoyed the pictures and information.

    3. It was easier because my igneous rock people helped me with the information and look at the videos.

    4. I learned that igneous rocks are made of dried magma. I enjoyed this activity because you have to play all the videos and read in your science book and more. We also learn that in some places on earth that are so hot that rocks melt from magma. I think it will be hard by your self because you have to do your notes and do your answers by your self. and do everything by your self. that why we should do it in groups because we could work in groups.

  9. 1.Sedimentary rocks are formed by tiny particles that are called Sediments. They are also formed out of pebbles, sand ,clay, and particals exposed to wind, ice ,and water. They are formed by materials.

2.Here are properties of some sedimentary rock.Even contained by plantes.

3.Some people use Sedimentary rocks for rock collections.

Self reflection: I learned how Sedimentary rocks are formed by rain, snow, wind.
Yes I enjoyed this activity. It was easy working in groups

We also learned about the rock cycle. And that igneous rocks form when magma reaches earth surface. I would rather call this project easier to work in groups because than we get to put all of our knowledge to gather.

FYI,Igneous rock is formed in magma and lava. There is a sentance that does not make any sence.this is the sentence,There to type of
igneous rock deeding on where the rock is formed.
there are also uncapitalized sentences and spelling mistakes.

    Sincerely, Coltrane

  12. Mary,
Instead of saying dried you would say dries and FYI,it also can form in lava not just magma. You also spelled together wrong. You said the same sentance two times. The first sentance on number 2 doesn't make sense.Igneous rocks can also be formed with lava and magma.I think it was easier working in groups. Also I learned alot of things about Igneous rocks.

  13. Hailey I liked how in your report on how you explaind on how igneous rocks are formed. I also liked the part on how you explaind on how when igneous rocks are in a volcano they are slowly becoming metamorphic rocks. But i do have one question did any of the rusions use igneous rocks to make anything. i also like how you explaind on how after rocks are shot out of a volcano they find there way to the ocean and become layrs.

    Sencerly,michael

  14. Michael,
You said when igneous rocks cool fast they get big crystals. That's wrong because online it said when they cool fast they get small crystals. Also, you have a lot of spelling mistakes. You could of put more information how people used the rock. The rest was okay.

  15. Bethany,
In the first paragragh you said to gathernt to mix together. Also, your next paragraph is confusing a little to me because you jump in to that some rocks have magnetism. Instead of contining talking about Extrusive and the Intrusive rocks not jump into a different subject.I understand want you said for number three bu tyou also inclued how you use igneous rocks. I liked the rest of your answers , the rested was awsome.

    Sincerely,Caela
